Shoes. Smiles. Speed.
For the second year in a row, The NASCAR Foundation hosted its Speediatrics Fun Day Festival in Daytona to promote a healthy mindset for children.
Part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle includes properly fitting footwear so kids can play without pain or shame.
Shoes That Fit was honored to be the footwear partner helping to provide 500 pairs of new athletic shoes for kids in attendance.
In addition to new shoes, the kids were treated to NASCAR-themed field day activities, a Q&A with NASCAR Drivers and healthy snacks. Drivers Corey LaJoie and Isabella Robusto were on hand for the excitement!
New this year, and in an effort to combat the rise of childhood obesity, each child who attends the event will receive a NASCAR Foundation “Fit Kit” complete with pedometer, jump rope and a new pair of athletic shoes – providing the children with all they need to help develop a routine of regular physical activity.
“We are pleased to partner with the NASCAR Foundation to bring 500 Daytona children new shoes for school. The road of life can be windy, with lots of unexpected twists and turns. When you give a child a new pair of shoes, you're also telling them that life is full of possibilities. They light up, they become more confident, they are excited because someone believes in them enough to give them this gift. Thank you to the NASCAR Foundation for filling these kids with so much joy.” – Amy Fass, Shoes That Fit Executive Director
