(Los Angeles, California—May 5, 2023)
At Shoes That Fit, we believe that every child deserves to walk through life with comfort and confidence. Our mission was brought to life on May 5th through a heartwarming shoe delivery event held at Harmony Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. Actor and producer Tai Collins, known for her dedication to philanthropy and improving the lives of underprivileged children, partnered with Bob Calfas, the LAPD, and Shoes That Fit to provide nearly 500 children with brand new athletic shoes.
As the founder of A Chance for Children, Tai Collins has been at the forefront of numerous charitable endeavors. This particular event aimed to address one of the most basic needs of children—having a well-fitting pair of shoes. A significant event like this wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and support of numerous volunteers. Bob Calfas, who supported the delivery in honor of his aunt Louise, joined officers from the LAPD and several volunteers from the local community to make this day unforgettable and to celebrate the students at Harmony Elementary. They assisted the children in finding their perfect pairs of shoes, offering guidance and encouragement along the way. Their kindness and compassion created an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance.
As the children tried on their new shoes, their faces lit up with pure joy and excitement. The event became a celebration of community, unity, and shared humanity. The children's smiles were a testament to the impact that a simple act of kindness can have on a young life. Their gratitude was immeasurable, reminding us of the power of giving and the profound effect it can have on others. These shoes will not only provide them with physical comfort but also instill a sense of pride and the belief that they can overcome any obstacle.
We are immensely grateful for the dedication and generosity of Tai Collins and A Chance for Children. Their unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged children is truly inspiring. By funding the shoe delivery event at Harmony Elementary School, Tai Collins has shown that even a single individual can create a ripple effect of change. Her genuine compassion and belief in the potential of every child serves as a shining example of how, through acts of kindness, we can empower and uplift young lives, fostering a brighter future for all.
