The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians made this summer a time to improve the lives of children through their annual Summer of Yawa’. This annual engagement celebrates the Tribe’s Spirit of Yawa’, a concept that means to act on one’s beliefs.
San Manuel organized a shoe drive with their team members and collaborated with Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel to receive shoe donations from resort guests. On August 19, San Manuel’s team delivered 294 pairs of new athletic shoes to the Shoes That Fit warehouse along with a $6,525 gift.
