Dear SHOEper Friends:

We are thinking of you during this difficult time and want to let you know how we are dealing with COVID-19. In an effort to be good citizens and keep everyone — the kids, school staff, volunteers, donors and board members — safe and healthy, we have made some changes:

  • All in-person shoe deliveries and events are postponed indefinitely.  We will reschedule them when life gets “back to normal.”

  • We have stopped all travel indefinitely.

  • Our Board is meeting online to keep business going while staying safe.

  • Most of our team is working from home, preparing for a huge fall and keeping the warehouse “open” by appointment.

What’s still going on:

    • We are providing shoes on an emergency basis for the agencies we serve (e.g. foster homes, the District Attorney’s office, School Districts and shelters). We are taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe.

    • We were able to ship out many shoes before schools closed, so the kids who had been promised shoes wouldn’t have to wait.

    • With so many families facing financial hardship, we are preparing for a surge in requests for shoes when kids go back to school, and we want to be ready to help!

    • Your donations are appreciated now more than ever!

Be safe. Wash your hands. Stay home. Help your neighbors.

All the best,

Amy Fass and the Shoes That Fit team
